I am in the middle of a massive overhaul of my system and am burning cash at an amazing rate. Also, I must mention that I discovered that in reality there is no such thing an Unlimited Online Backup Solution.
If you are a street photographer disk storage is a nightmare which never ends. About 8 years ago I purchased a Drobo NAS and it was a disaster and as a result I decided that I would never depend on a RAID system again and many I have discussed this with agree with me.
My next attempt was a Drobo firewire solution and while it did work my newer iMacs did not have a firewire option and the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter was not without problems.
Finally I found the solution when I purchased a Lacie 2Big 8TB unit but within a very short period of time I discovered that I had a backup problem so I purchased a Thunderbolt 2 12TB Lacie unit and within months two 4TB units and three 2TB Lacie Rugged drives. I also have five Lacie 4T usb units which are fantastic value for money.
As the problem is ongoing I ordered a Lacie 20TB Thunderbolt 3 dock and hopefully it will arrive within the next few days.
A number of people suggested that I backup to the cloud so I decided to give Backblaze a try and after much question asking and increasing my broadband speed to 500Meg I subscribed and then within two or three days was informed that it would take more than a year to backup my working files [this is before I start adding video]
