GEORGE’S LANE – DUBLINBIKES DOCKING STATION 50
Not much to be said about George’s Lane other than it is Smithfield and is close to Blackhall Place. However, I must admit that I would not have expected a street with this name to be located in the Smithfield area of Dublin. It should be mentioned that South Great George’s street was originally called George’s Lane and takes its name from a church dedicated to Saint George, which stood there in 1181. The church was rebuilt in 1213 and stood until demolition in 1586
