CRAMPTON COURT OFF ESSEX STREET – URBAN EXPRESSION AT LOVE LANE

Crampton Court, shown in my photograph, connects Dame Street to East Essex Street in Temple Bar and it runs parallel to Crane Lane [more or less].

Unfortunately the laneway is in a sorry state at the moment but when I visited a few days ago a Dublin City Council worker was in the process of cleaning the tiles.

Back in 2019 or 2020 I overheard a tour guide identifying that laneway as Love Lane but, in case you are wondering, Love Lane is a laneway that connects Lower Grand Canal Street to Lower Mount Street.

Before Covid-19 there was an ongoing programme named “Love The Lanes” and to the best of my knowledge when street artist Anna Doran installed a number of artistic tiles at this location she named the installation “Love Lane”.
