COOL CAT ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF PAINT-A-BOX STREET ART
A few weeks ago I used the expression “cool cat” and not one person was aware of the of the expression or its meaning. That made me feel old … I once had a real black cat named “Cool Cat” but I am not certain that he was a jazz fan.
In case you are unaware the American 1920s slang phrase “cool cat” likely got its origin in the Jazz community and it refers to someone, usually a man, who is regarded as hip and cool. (“Cat” as a slang term for a man is commonly associated with jazz music.)
